What it is. What it is not.
Ontario's mining industry produces roughly one-third of Canada's non-fuel mineral output. The people who protect those operations cannot be city officers on a rotation. Mining security is a discipline of its own — a discipline of camp life, of gate discipline, of ore-transfer discretion, and of environmental protest de-escalation. Ontario Security Services builds, trains and rotates dedicated mining teams for Sudbury, Timmins, Red Lake, Kirkland Lake, Elliot Lake, Marathon and every fly-in operation in between.
Our northern security officers understand the rhythm of a live mine. They know when the crushers stop, when the shift bus arrives, when the assay lab locks up, and when a contractor is trying to enter a blast zone during a scheduled shot. Officers are recruited from northern Ontario communities wherever possible and rotated on 14-on / 7-off schedules with satellite communications for isolated sites north of the Trans-Canada Highway.
From nickel and copper in the Sudbury Basin to gold in the Abitibi Belt, from platinum group metals near Marathon to lithium exploration in the northwest, every Ontario mining project has a security threat profile that a generalist security company will miss. We do not miss it. We staff for it, train for it and audit against it.

Site classification
Every mining site is classified: drive-in-drive-out, fly-in-fly-out, active production or exploration. Deployment model follows classification.

Roster build
Our northern roster is built from Sudbury, Timmins and North Bay residents wherever possible. Language capability and cultural fit are non-negotiable.

Camp integration
Officers arrive on the same shift rotation as the crew. Meals, quarters and radios are integrated on day one.

Gate & perimeter
Gate control, contractor screening, blast-zone perimeter and haul-road audits become the daily operational rhythm.

High-value transfers move on client-preferred schedules with dedicated escort vehicles and satellite check-ins.

Do you cover fly-in-only mining operations?
Yes. We regularly rotate officers into fly-in camps north of the 51st parallel, including operations in the Ring of Fire access zone and Northwestern Ontario exploration projects.

Can you supply bilingual (EN/FR) officers to northeastern Ontario mines?
Yes. Timmins, Kirkland Lake and Cochrane area operations often require bilingual capability; we roster officers accordingly.

How do you handle environmental protests?
De-escalation first, documentation second, OPP coordination as a last resort. Our officers never physically remove protesters unless there is a court order in hand.

Do you provide gold or precious-metal escort services?
Yes. We escort ore transfers, doré bars and precious-metal shipments under insurer-approved protocols. Vehicles, timing and routing are tailored to the value and the terrain.

Yes. $5M commercial general liability is standard, with additional mining site riders available on request.
